At our school, music is an exciting and creative part of the curriculum that encourages children to develop a lifelong appreciation of music. Following the National Curriculum through the Music Express scheme, pupils explore a wide range of musical styles and traditions through singing, listening, composing and performing.

Children develop their understanding of musical elements such as rhythm, pitch, tempo and dynamics while building confidence, creativity and teamwork. Through engaging and practical lessons, they learn to express themselves and respond thoughtfully to music from different cultures and periods.

In Key Stage Two, pupils also benefit from specialist instrumental tuition through the Shrosphire Music Service. This provides children with the opportunity to learn and perform on a specific musical instrument, further developing their musical skills and fostering a love of music-making.

We aim to inspire all children to enjoy music, develop their talents and experience the joy of performing both individually and as part of an ensemble.
